Description: This event is FREE and OPEN to the public. The Black Family Reunion is hosted by the Southern California Area – National Council of Negro Women, Inc., at Mile Square Regional Park in Fountain Valley, California. This historic event, initiated by the iconic Dr. Dorothy Height, is a one-day cultural celebration of the enduring strengths and the traditional values of the African-American family. The day includes motivational speakers, cultural performances, free haircuts for school-aged children, as well as a backpack/school supply giveaway. There will be a bounce house and fun activities for children, activities for teens, card games, a water balloon fight, hula hoop contests, DJ Reg on the turntables, and health screenings for the entire family. Additionally, several of our community partners will host informational and vendor booths. This will be an exciting day of FOOD, FUN, FELLOWSHIP, and FAMILY for the entire community! This year, we are expecting more than 500 attendees! The Wiley Kimbro Lodge has generously donated all of the meats and will be barbequing ALL DAY! FREE FOOD! Wear your T-shirts!!! Rep NCNW, your HBCU, DIVINE NINE SORORITY or FRATERNITY, MASONIC LODGE and OES Affiliation!! Grab your lawn chairs, tents, blankets and coolers, and join us for a day of FUN!
